Natty: November 2024

Radikon

Merlot

One of the most sought after wines in the natty world is Radikon. In Italy, on the border with Slovenia Radikon and Gravner (their neighbor) have become gods. Clean natural wines that evoke hedonism yet have clarity. Screw Sideways, we love Merlot at Corbeau, and this is a perfect example. A big wine but balanced, full of pure purple fruit and a sexy earthiness.

Pairing: Persian-Spiced Lamb Shanks

Fun fact: Radikon is truly on the border of Slovenia and they even have land there. So you could say the wines are a multi-country blend.

Matassa

Blanc

One of the godfathers of natural wine in the south of France, Matassa is becoming harder and harder to come by. All of their wines speak truly of those hills you see in the picture above. Here we have a “white” wine made from Macebeau aged on the kins for over a month. It's textured, exotic, and so food friendly.

Pairing: Italian-Style Tuna Sandwich

Fun fact:Tom reads a book a week.

Mosse

Moussamoussettes

I fell in love with wine at Septime in Paris and knew that I had to share it with everyone. A pet-nat of Grolleau and Pine D’Aunis this is the perfect wine for your Thanksgiving table. Bright, cranberry-y, crunchy, and oh so yummy.

Pairing: Cauliflower Shawarma

Fun fact: Mosse is the boss!
